Objectives:
- introduce Chinese songs with music (midi and MP3), sheet music (black and white keys), lyrics in pin yin, Chinese characters, and English or other translation
- get piano students to play the black keys earlier on
- get students to improvise to pentatonic melodies, i.e. anything goes
- make available interesting arrangements for different levels
- put chord markings for guitar and improvisation (make use of capo to allow first position chords)
- add simplified notation (jian pu)
Outstanding:
- ensure correct notes for melody
- get Chinese lyrics in Chinese and pin yin
- translate to English and/or Dutch or other
- make interesting arrangement
- get illustration
- write a historical synopsis and indicate how to play it
